The Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade is devoted to preserving the living memory of Serbian folk tradition through various activities including collecting, protecting and exhibiting testaments to our past and folk history (such as folk costumes, craft objects, customs and rites etc.), as well as other events aimed at general public (exhibits, lectures, film screenings). Our Museum launched an initiative to create this internet portal Zanati.org (Crafts.org) which is dedicated to safeguarding and revitalizing crafts in Serbia. In fact, we strive to affirm craft skills of our masters, because it is the essential heritage of our cultural and national identity. Besides, handmade object make difference and contribute considerably to tourism industry within globalized economy. The internet portal is developed by the company Krypton Web from Belgrade. In addition, the purpose of this portal is the promotion of crafts as an economically viable activity. This is evidenced in the sale of souvenirs in many European countries and worldwide as a vital part of international tourism. The market for craft products is that of tourism products at numerous locations worldwide. We approach you with a kind request for the funding the development of this internet portal.Your contribution to this project will be announced through media promotion (newspapers, magazines, TV, radio, internet) and through the wide visibility of your logo, company name and trademark in the spaces of the Ethnographic Museum (exhibit space, conference and cinema hall). We also offer partnership through expertise of our curators in crafts issues in various projects. We hope that this letter, along with the accompanying information, will be inspiring and interesting to you. If you consider our offer so, we would be very happy with an opportunity to meet you in person in order to discuss details of our future cooperation.
